See ChronoSnap in Action

Watch a full walkthrough of ChronoSnap's workflow, from importing footage to generating final calculations and reports. No fluff—just the exact tools and process used by real crash investigators in real cases.

Extract Data

ChronoSnap can be used to extract the frame-by-frame data that you need in order to reconstruct a crash using video evidence, including professional time stamped reports to help maintain authenticity and chain of custody.

Analyze Event Range

Once you've extracted your metadata use the supplied CSV files and frames to identify the start and end points of your event. From there, add in the frames and obtain times, and check for duplicates or skipped frames.

Perform Calculations

Perform recon calculations right from the main screen of the program, no need to go to a secondary software. Some calculations include, speed over known distances, speed to or from a stop, and speed at any time.

🕵️ Solo Investigator?

ChronoSnap is lightweight, affordable, and built to make your solo casework faster and more accurate—without needing a lab or IT team. Drag, drop, analyze, and export your report in minutes from your patrol car or office.

🏢 Agency or Investigation Unit?

Equip your team with the tools to produce consistent, court-ready video analysis across every scene. ChronoSnap scales easily with multi-user licenses, training options, and hardware add-ons to match your workflow.

Beta Release Pricing

ChronoSnap is fully operational and field-tested—but during this limited beta release, we’re offering early access at a reduced rate. This is a complete version of the software, not a watered-down demo, but access is capped to a small number of users while we finalize licensing and deployment systems. Once we hit capacity, beta pricing is gone for good.

Frequently asked questions

Will ChronoSnap work with the weird video files I get from body cams, dash cams, or surveillance systems?

Yes. ChronoSnap is built to handle the most common formats you’ll see at a crash or crime scene—MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, and even DAV files. It also supports raw video streams like H.264 and H.263, and it can read codecs that would usually trip up standard media players. If you come across a file that won’t play or process, just send it in—we offer investigator support to help get it working.

Are the reports ready for court, or will I have to clean them up?

They’re ready for the stand, as-is. Each PDF report is automatically generated and includes timestamped metadata, case info, the commands used, frame-by-frame timing, and clearly laid out formulas with the math shown. Whether it’s a simple frame analysis or a speed calculation, you’ll have the documentation to back up your findings—and the report to defend it.

What kind of calculations can I do from the program?

ChronoSnap handles the most common video-based formulas used in crash reconstruction: Speed Over Known Distance; Speed to/from a Stop; Acceleration to/from a Stop; Velocity at Any Time; Perception-Response Distance;

Just drop in your values, select the event range, and the math is done for you—step by step, fully documented.

Do I need a super computer to run this?

Nope. ChronoSnap is designed to run lightweight in the background using command-line operations. No heavy video editing software, no complicated installs.

Does this come with training?

Yes. Every ChronoSnap license includes free online basic user training to get you up and running fast. If your team needs more, we offer optional in-house training for departments, and full video analysis for crash reconstruction training is also available. Whether you just need to know which button to push—or want to become the video analysis expert in your unit—we’ve got the training path to match.
